The AutoWallis Group may further extend its presence on the Slovenian market, provided that all contractual terms are met, and the local competition authority approves the takeover agreement concerning the automotive retail and servicing branches of Avto Aktiv d.o.o. Avto Aktiv is a significant market player in Slovenia, selling and servicing BMW, MINI, Jaguar, Land Rover, Toyota and Suzuki vehicles in four cities (Koper, Kranj, Nova Gorica, Trzin). The company reported an annual turnover of EUR 37 million in 2019, and sold a total of 877 new vehicles. AutoWallis and Avto Aktiv will be finalizing the details of the preliminary agreement shortly, and will file for the approval of the Slovenian competition authority. According to the preliminary agreement, owners of Avto Aktiv will contribute the entire business lines in question to AutoWallis Plc. in exchange for receiving AutoWallis shares, whereby a strategic partnership will be established that supports AutoWallis in realizing its plans in Slovenia and succeeding in its undertakings there. Commenting on the agreement, CEO of AutoWallis Gábor Ormosy pointed out that this was not the first acquisition realized by the group in Slovenia: as announced earlier, AutoWallis concluded the takeover of the largest BMW dealership in the country in October, which also marked the group’s entering into the Slovenian car retail market. The group is present in 14 countries in the region, actively engaged in the retail and wholesale of vehicles, parts, and accessories, in repair and maintenance services, as well as in short- and long-term vehicle rentals. AutoWallis, a company listed in the Budapest Stock Exchange, had already been present in Slovenia before through its subsidiary Wallis Automotive Europe, which is the exclusive authorized representative of the Jaguar and Land Rover brands in the country. The group will also soon begin wholesale of the Opel brand in Slovenia, as well as in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary.
