Another vehicle brand is being added to the AutoWallis’s retail portfolio
2022.03.21.
AutoWallis continues its growth and expands the number of vehicle brands sold by the Group’s Retail & Services Business Unit by starting retail sales of SsangYong vehicles in Hungary. AutoWallis already represents the South Korean brand on three regional markets besides the Hungarian, but it has previously concentrated on the Distribution Business Unit. This step is well aligned with the Group’s strategy to grow organically through acquisitions and business development, making the brands it already represents, together with related services, available in more and more countries in the retail sector.
AutoWallis is entering the retail market of one of the most dynamically developing vehicle brands on the Hungarian market after the Group’s new car dealership at Váci út 175 in Budapest. will now feature the full range of SsangYong models in addition to Maserati, Isuzu, and the BMW Premium Selection. The Group has represented SsangYong since 2012, though up until now it has performed only the exclusive wholesale activities of the brand’s vehicle and parts sales, first in Hungary and then in Romania, Czech Republic, and Slovakia. The success and upward trend of the brand is shown by the fact that the Group was able to significantly increase its market share in the region: In 2021, a total of 1000 SsangYong vehicles were purchased in Hungary, which is an increase of 15.47% in one year even though sales on the Hungarian passenger vehicle market dropped by 3.4%*. AutoWallis’s current step is well aligned with the Group’s strategy to grow organically through acquisitions, making the brands it already represents, together with related services, available in more and more countries in the retail sector. In connection with the step, Péter Antal, head of AutoWallis’s Retail & Services Business Unit, said: their aim is to make the brands represented by the Group as a wholesaler available in an increasing number of countries, assessing local market needs. This allows AutoWallis’s recognition and position and the synergies between the members of the Group to support each other, increase operating effectiveness, and thus increase share value. He also added that with this step, all SsangYong models – the Korando, Musso, Musso Grand, Rexton, Tivoli, and Tivoli Grand – will be available to customers, and the location will function as an official factory-authorized repair in addition to providing sales, thereby expanding the Group’s service portfolio by yet another brand.
