This step brings the automotive company registered on the Budapest Stock Exchange closer to making it a major vehicle trading company and mobility service provider in the region by the end of the decade.

The AutoWallis Group is launching its own mobility brand called wigo and will continue offering its car sharing service under the name wigo carsharing, which will be introduced to the domestic market by the Group member Wallis Autómegosztó Zrt., where it operated the Share Now brand to be cancelled on October 24. The car sharing to be first made available under the wigo brand is planned to be followed by additional mobility services. Regarding the news, AutoWallis Plc. CEO Gábor Ormosy explained that as the Group has become an international company present in 16 countries, the strategic goal of creating the brand is to create a possibility for including a part of the mobility services under a unified brand name that conveys the same message on all markets. For AutoWallis, the introduction of wigo offers opportunities for synergies between the Group members such as car selection, cross selling, operation, and knowledge and technology transfers, explained Gábor Ormosy the significance of the step. The first step of introducing the wigo brand name is to launch wigo carsharing, which will be replacing Share Now Hungary. For the close to 100 thousand users of the service provided by AutoWallis Group member Wallis Autómegosztó Zrt., the wigo application will be available for download from Google Play and App Store: after renewing their passwords, users will be able to use the fleet of almost 500 vehicles available in the new application starting from October 24; registrations will also be accepted from this same date. The application also provides wigo users with updated and improved functions.

Every year, the AutoWallis Group’s car sales portfolio is seeing record expansion, with the mobility services quickly catching up, meaning AutoWallis now provides almost the entire spectrum of services, including short-term car rentals (Sixt rent-a-car), leases, fleet services, and car sharing, which are all an important area for environmentally friendly services, helping to support the company in achieving its ESG targets. Not only is car sharing more economical, but is also a greener solution for urban transportation, which is combined with wigo carsharing’s fleet of low emissions vehicles that are no more than a few years old and have at least EURO6 engines or are electric. According to AutoWallis’s forecasts, the number of people using car sharing in Budapest may grow five-fold over the short to medium term.
